Finally got a pomeranian puppy dog: After terrible time keeping and panic attacks
I google rental cars in London, loads of results came up all the big boys like Enterprise and AVIS who I had used before. But they were not open, Why would a car rental place not be open on a bank holiday? So now the traditional method of car rental is out of the question. I then look into peer to peer rentals like City Car Club, an old friend of mine was signed up to them and always spoke about how easy and cheap it was to rent cars with them. It was like borrowing a car from your friend you haven't met yet... but they don't have any cars available in my area right now.
I came to the bit where it was time to pay a £600 deposit. I was horrified
Then I looked at easycar they had loads of cars available and seemed really affordable they seemed to run on the same premise as City Car Club. As I had never heard of easycar I google reviews for the service and the reviews were terrible around 1 star rating out of 5 didn;t seem promising but I was desperate and I had been looking for a dog long enough, I was tired of everyone asking me, "when can we get a dog", over and over and over and over again. So as I began the registration process I came to the bit where it was time to pay a £600 deposit. I was horrified can you show me this silly video pretending like your a nice friendly company and charge £600 deposit and also loads of people seemed to have complained about not getting their deposit back and that was something I was not willing to risk.
I finally found a company who I totally forgot I used once last year, iCanHIre. They require no deposit as I was already registered, they didn't need to verify my licence through DVLA who were closed on the bank holiday, but they didn't have any cars in my area. But they did have a van, who cares its only 2 hours away. My girlfriend daughter and I jump on the bus and find the van. Once we got into the van I put in the postcode of the breeder Kellys Kennels
The sat nav on my phone tells me that we are 3 hours 48 mins away!!! This phone must be messing about how have we gone from a nice simple 2 hour ride to nearly 4 hours? The time is now 3pm and Kelly said that she closes at 5pm. I know full well that I still have about 3 hours to go I call Kelly and tell her that I will be there around 6.
Keeping black time is a scientifically proven condition that can simply not be cured
After being amazed by seeing real sheep and cows along the way and talking about how country air isn't refreshing and just stinks (I told you about the London ignorance) We finally arrive at Kelly... Kelly was nice and friendly although I'm sure she was a little peed off with our extreme lateness (keeping black time is a scientifically proven condition that can simply not be cured) she kept a brave face and showed us to the dogs. I held a little black Pomapoodle (pomeraian and poodle) and my girlfriend held a golden brown one, while was daughter was scared of them all and kept her distance. We decided to get the brown one because of her calm sprit and cute face. We out her in a little makeshift box and we were on our way .
The two dogs we left behind
Our new lovely little dog vomited in her box and started to lick it up.
On the way back our new lovely little dog vomited in her box and started to lick it up, it sent my daughter who has already apprehensive about the dog into having a panic attack. I'm trying to calm her down my girlfriend is now saying she can't breath and thinks shes allergic to dog. Our nice little day trip has turned sour. I had to pull up on the hard shoulder on the M4 to bring a bit of peace. My daughter and girlfriend got out of the car and I made them sit in the back. The two of them calmed down while the little dog sat happily in her box on the floor of the rented van I was already unhappy because I had to pay £22 toll there and back. All that madness in a small space was too much so the two of them stayed in the back of the van and me and my little dog , who may now have to go back where driving back home. At this point we were still about 80 miles away from home and we stopped at a service station I was then hit with an almighty cramp which had me feeling like
After I drank some water and hopped around the service station car park for 15 minutes we was ready to go. We eventually made it home at 12am. I put Ruby (the dog) in a crate that we bought from argos It was a little too big but Ruby seemed to sleep perfectly all night.
Sniffing my bag just before bed
My girlfriend seems to have gotten over her extreme allergic reaction
Now a couple of days has passed and Ruby has settled well, she is learning how to use the puppy pads instead of the rug. My girlfriend seems to have got over her extreme allergic reaction and my daughter is still a little scared but shes getting used to her new dog Ruby and as for me I'm up at 3.34am writing this blog post after being woken up by whimpering and wining from Ruby who just wanted to come out of the crate for a few minute then go back to sleep.
Chillin on the rug before she peed on it
